Prison Sentences for Reyes & Thomas

The second of five co-defendants in a Bryan murder Mother’s Day of last year is off to prison. Joey Reyes of Bryan was sentenced to three years after being convicted of engaging in organized criminal activity. Reyes was among four accused of that felony. In April, Johnathan Orta of Bryan pleaded guilty and was sent to prison for 40 years for killing Christopher Hutchson.

In an unrelated case, another Bryan man was sent to prison following convictions of assaulting his girlfriend and two police officers. The arrest of 23 year old Leslie Thomas the third in February of last year took a half-dozen officers and being tazed twice. Thomas was ordered to serve 6 1/2 years.
