Grand Jury Returns No Bill in Bryan Police Shooting Incident

The Bryan Police Department has been advised by Brazos County District Attorney Bill Turner that the Grand Jury reviewing the officer involved shooting of May 6th has returned a “no-bill” in this case.

That means no criminal charges were filed against Officer William Cross.  The incident in the area of North Texas and Martin Luther King, Jr. injured two men. One who was shot  is accused of trying to take Cross’s handgun and a construction worker was hit by gunfire.

Quoting a prepared statement from BPD, “We respect the Grand Jury and have trust in the criminal justice process.”

Cross, a Bryan policeman for 14 years, remains on administrative leave while the internal investigation into his actions continues.

Comments from Bryan Police Chief Eric Buske, visiting with WTAW’s Bill Oliver.
