College Station Mayor Ben White has come out in favor of City Council voting on the status of the red light camera contract with American Traffic Solutions.
Click to hear WTAW’s Chris Clift talk with White:
Council member Katy Marie Lyles was the first to go on record early Wednesday afternoon encouraging a Council vote on the issue.
City Manager Glenn Brown came next, with a statement just after 4 p.m. Wednesday addressing the issue and saying he will advise Council to terminate the contract with ATS if the election results are thrown out in court.
White was third to voice his opinion, stating a desire to see a Council vote regarding cameras just before 5 p.m. Thursday.
We have extended an invitation for the remaining Council members to express to us their thoughts on whether Council should once again address red light cameras.
If and when more elected officials respond we will post their position here on wtaw.com, with full coverage tomorrow morning starting at 6 a.m. with the Infomaniacs on News/Talk 1620 WTAW.
