CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) _ The U.S. Coast Guard says it has suspended the search for a second Navy pilot whose plane disappeared off the Texas coast on Wednesday.
The Coast Guard said it suspended the search Sunday evening.
Coast Guard searchers had found the body of the other pilot who was aboard the aircraft on Friday when a floating rig’s crew reported something in the water.
The Navy had said that 29-year-old Lt. John Joseph Houston, of Houston and 30-year-old Lt. Bret Travis Miller of East Troy, Wis., were on board the Navy T-34C Turbomentor training plane. The Navy had declined to say which man’s body was found.
The Coast Guard estimated that it searched 131 hours and 20,900 square miles. It said it will continue trying to locate the plane.
