Lawmaker Gets Involved in Search for Missing Teen

HOUSTON (AP) _ A Texas congressman has joined a Pearland woman’s efforts to find her abducted daughter by getting the U.S. State Department involved in the 14-year-old case.

The Houston Chronicle is reporting that Deana Hebert accused her ex-husband of kidnapping their 18-month-old daughter during a 1995 weekend visit. Hebert suspects Bianca Isabella Lozano was taken to Mexico by her father, Juan Antonio Lozano Jr.

The pair never returned.

U.S. Rep. Pete Olson says the State Department is taking a new look at the case.

The ex-husband’s sister, who lives in the Houston area, told the newspaper she wasn’t going to discuss Bianca or her brother.

The State Department has open reports of 954 U.S. citizen children being taken into Mexico by a parent.

Hebert is hopeful of a reunion but knows her daughter may have another life.
