Officer Rhonda Seaton says Stroustrup emerged from a wooded area in the 2400 block of Peach Creek Road.  She was given a ride back to Lick Creek Park.

Seaton says Stroustrup was checked by paramedics and appeared to be unharmed.

Stroustrup told investigators she became lost while walking in the park.  She said that after it got dark and knowing show was lost she decided to sit by a tree until daylight.

Stroustrup and her husband went to the park Sunday evening so he could jog and she could walk.

The couple separated to pursue their respective activities. When Mrs. Stroustrup failed to show up at their normal meeting place, her husband became concerned.

After searching on his own, Stroustrup’s husband called police. The couple was separated for 14 hours before she returned to the park.

Seaton says approximately 100 people assisted with the Sunday night search. They came from the College Station and Bryan Fire Departments, the Precinct 3 and South Brazos County Volunteer Fire Departments, the Department of Public Safety and its aviation division, the Brazos County Search Dog Network, the Alamo Area Search & Rescue Dog Handlers, the Brazos Valley CERT team, the City of College Station Parks Department, and Texas Task Force 1.

At the time Mrs. Stroustrup appeared Monday morning. another 75 volunteers were on their way from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and the recruit classes of the Central Texas Police Academy and TEEX Fire School.
