Houston House Fire Kills 2 Children

HOUSTON (AP) _ An early morning house fire has killed two children and left a third child with burns on her feet.

Neighbors say three young children lived in the house with their uncle and their grandparents.

Houston Fire Department District Chief Tommy Dowdy says firefighters were met by the children’s uncle, who had a gun when they arrived shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday.

Dowdy says the man indicated firefighters weren’t going in fast enough.

Authorities were searching for the uncle, who left the scene after the two children’s bodies were found in the house.
