The College Station City Council will deal with a number of issues at their regular meeting Thursday.

During the workshop meeting Thursday afternoon Council members will hear presentations regarding office space needs for city staff, signs to enforce the cell phone ban in school zones and how tobacco/cigar shops are defined under the smoking ordinance.
In November voters turned down a bond proposal that would have funded a new city hall building, so Council is looking at what other options they have to alleviate overcrowding for city staff.
The College Station City Council met recently with the College Station ISD Board of Trustees to discuss putting up signs that would restrict cell phone use in school zones.
The restrictions are allowed under a new state law, but signs must be posted for the law to be enforced.
White says the city should pay for the signs, at a cost of about $10,400, because they will benefit from the revenue generated by fines.
Money from the red light camera fund can be used to pay for the signs because those proceeds are to be used for traffic safety.
White says Council is going to revisit the smoking ordinance because there may be some unclear areas in the current regulations as they apply to tobacco/cigar shops.
The Council workshop meeting starts at 3 p.m., with a regular meeting at 7 p.m., at Council chambers on Texas Avenue.
