First Grader Brings Knife to Navasota Elementary School

A first grader at Navasota’s John Webb Elementary School is in trouble for taking a knife to school on Thursday and threatening another student.

In a letter to parents, Superintendent Stu Musick described the weapon as a “mini keychain knife” and that the threat was made inside the classroom.

Musick says appropriate procedures were followed and they continue to address the incident in accordance with district and campus disciplinary policies. We asked what type of discipline the child would face, but the district said that due to FERPA laws, they were unable to disclose that information.

He reminds parents to talk with their children about the seriousness of taking weapons to school and making threats. And if they hear about or see a threat, to immediately tell a trusted adult.
