Brazos County ESD 4 Adds New Fire Engine

A man was arrested early Monday after a fight outside a Bryan sports bar. Bryan Police received reports of a hit-and-run involving a vehicle and a pedestrian at the El Centenario Sports Bar in the 1200 block of West William J. Bryan Parkway just after 2:00am. The victim has been in a fight with two men. Those men, 27-year-old Alex Gaytan and 30-year-old John Manuel Gaytan, III, both of Bryan, headed back to their pickup to leave. The victim then chased them down and punched the passenger window of their Chevrolet Silverado. That’s when the driver, Alex Gaytan, put his truck into reverse where the victim was knocked to the ground by the sideview mirror and then run over. Guytan then drove forward, running over the victim a second time, before fleeing the scene. The victim’s arm and leg were run over and he was transported to St. Joseph’s hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Video from a nearby business confirmed the events. The men were located about 20 minutes later in the 6400 block of Old Spanish Trail. Alex Gaytan was arrested for Collision Involving Serious Bodily Injury. He was released on $15,000 bond. A man was arrested at Saturday’s Texas A&M football game after police say he was inappropriately recording women with his cellphone. A Bryan police officer working an off-duty assignment on the third deck was approached by a woman who said she saw a man taking video up the skirt of another woman. Arrest records say police witnessed 61-year-old Manuel Salazar Ramirez raising his cellphone over his shoulder and pointing towards a woman standing on an elevated ramp. They made Ramirez show them his phone and they were able to identify the victim who said she wished to press charges. University Police confiscated his phone as evidence and arrested him for Invasive Visual Recording. He being held in the Brazos County Jail on $15,000 bond. This is Ramirez’s 26th booking into the jail. His previous arrests include public intoxication, burglary, possession of marijuana, and DWI.
