News release from Texas A&M Athletics:

Six Aggies from the Texas A&M’s softball team earned NFCA All-Region Central honors, the organization announced Thursday.

Mya Perez highlighted the group with first-team recognition, while Sidne Peters and Kennedy Powell garnered second-team honors. Sydney Lessentine, Ariel Kowalewski and Micaela Wark were named to the third team. The six selections mark the third straight season Texas A&M has had at least six all-region honorees, while the 19 total over the past three seasons are the most in program history during a three-year span.

Perez is the only Division I player to have reached base in every game this season, owning a nation-leading 56-game on-base streak. She ranks second nationally and leads the SEC with a .614 on-base percentage. The junior is batting .435, the third-best mark in the SEC, while her .924 slugging percentage ranks fourth in the league and 19th nationally. The honor marks her second career all-region selection after earning second-team recognition a season ago.

Powell earned her third career all-region honor, including her second as an Aggie after earning third-team recognition as a junior. The senior led the SEC with 36 hits and nine doubles in conference play, setting Texas A&M program records in both categories. She ranks second in the SEC with 78 total hits, while her 58 runs scored rank eighth in the league. Nationally, she ranks 25th in hits and 49th in runs scored. Powell leads the team with 26 multi-hit games and has scored multiple runs in 17 contests.

Peters garnered her first career all-region honor after a career-best season in which she made 34 appearances, including 15 starts, and posted a 2.84 ERA across 115.2 innings pitched. The junior has struck out 125 batters while holding opponents to a .219 batting average. Peters led the SEC with four saves in conference play and ranked ninth with 64 strikeouts. She also posted a 3.00 ERA across 60.2 conference innings with a 1.19 WHIP.

Wark ranks 17th nationally with 68 RBI, while her 19 home runs rank 33rd, both team highs. The graduate has posted a team-best 19 multi-RBI games, including five contests with four RBI. Wark recorded 28 RBI in conference action, ranking second in the SEC, while posting eight multi-RBI performances during the 24-game league slate. The all-region honor marks the third of her career and first as an Aggie.

Kowalewski earned her first career all-region recognition. The sophomore leads the Aggies with 16 doubles and ranks second on the team with 17 multi-hit games. She is third on the squad with a .371 batting average and .604 slugging percentage. In SEC play, Kowalewski hit .311 with 23 hits, including one home run and four doubles, while adding 12 runs scored and seven RBI.
