Two officers with the Bryan police department’s directed deployment team were involved in finding a local man wanted by Hempstead police for a drive by shooting.

The Hempstead police department’s Facebook page had no information about the allegations involving 21 year old Quinterrious Taylor.

BPD arrest reports say the Hempstead incident involved an AK-47 style pistol.

Just before noon on Tuesday (January 20), officers started following Taylor as he drove away from an apartment.

The arrest reports say an officer tried to stop Taylor after he failed to turn on his turn signal at least 100 feet before making a turn. Taylor drove seven blocks before stopping, he resisted arrest after he stopped, then he ran away. Taylor stopped running after one of the officers drew their gun and ordered Taylor to the ground.

In addition to the arrest warrant from Hempstead, Taylor was charged by Bryan police for evading and resisting arrest.

The BPD arrest report does not say if officers recovered any weapons.

And at the time of Tuesday’s arrest (January 20), Taylor was out on bond awaiting trial on a Brazos County charge of engaging in organized criminal activity that took place in September of 2024. Online jail records show bond in that case was increased.

As of January 22nd, Taylor remains jailed in lieu of bonds totaling $110,000 dollars.
