College Station and Bryan police sent its SWAT teams to a home north of the Bryan city cemetery Wednesday (December 3) to find a man a CSPD arrest report says evaded officers on six prior occasions. 28 year old Demarcus Robertson was caught following a foot chase through three residential yards, a fenced commercial lot, and all five lanes of Texas Avenue. In addition to a new charge of evading, Robertson was arrested on five warrants. Two of the warrants were for evading. Another charge is for family violence assault where he knocked out some teeth of the victim. He is also being held for contempt of court in a child support case and felony possession of marijuana. Robertson, who was booked in the Brazos County jail for the 18th time since March 2015, remains held without bond on the warrants in the child support and a 2019 conviction for evading with a prior conviction. Bonds in the other cases totals $80,000 dollars.
For the second time in just over five months, a 17 year old from Anderson is arrested on Brazos County charges of assaulting public servants. The latest charges against Byron Dewayne Thompson Jr. accuses him of injuring three deputies in the Brazos County jail on December 3rd. Arrest reports from the sheriff’s office say the assaults followed Thompson refusing to return to his cell for violating recreation procedures. One deputy received head injuries, another was kicked and struck on the foot, and the third deputy was scratched. Thompson has been in the adult jail since kicking a juvenile detention officer in June. Bonds in those cases totals $95,000 dollars.
