Multiple reports of gunfire last Friday afternoon (May 16) sent Bryan police to an apartment complex off Finfeather Road west of Midtown Park. Officers found no bullets and no evidence of anyone or anything being struck. A car matching a witnesses description was stopped. The BPD arrest report says a handgun was found next to a passenger who was taken to jail on a charge of unlawful possession of a gun by a convicted felon. Jail records also show 46 year old Daniel Campbell of Bryan, who was booked for the 30th time in 25 years, is also held on a parole violation. The arrest report said Campbell is on probation until the year 2062 for possessing a prohibited item in a correctional facility.
Bryan police responded to the report of gunfire Saturday (May 17) at four in the morning in the neighborhood between Bryan city cemetery and Mount Calvary cemetery. While no arrests were announced related to the shooting, a woman who was nearby but was not involved in that incident was taken to jail. The BPD arrest report says a bystander told officers that 27 year old Adriana Williams had experienced two medical seizures. As officers were assessing Williams, the arrest report says she bit the thumb of one of three officers. Then she refused to walk on her own as she was taken to a patrol vehicle. Williams was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation where she was cleared then taken to jail. Williams, who was charged with assaulting an officer, resisting arrest, and public intoxication, was released after posting bonds totaling $14,000 dollars.
