News release from Texas A&M Athletics:

BIRMINGHAM – Texas A&M was represented by a record-breaking 82 student-athletes on the 2024 Fall SEC Academic Honor Roll, SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey announced Thursday.

The 2024 Fall SEC Academic Honor Roll saw a jump from 72 last year and was four more than the previous record of 78 from the 2020 Fall report.

“Our student-athletes’ commitment to excellence in the classroom makes us all incredibly proud.,” Director of Athletics Trev Alberts said. “This is a great step in their progress toward graduating and I am thankful for their efforts, as well as our staff’s part in ensuring their academic success. Congratulations to all of our student-athletes that earned their place on this record-setting Fall SEC Academic Honor Roll.”

Football led the way with 31 honorees and soccer followed with 21. Additionally, volleyball featured six on the list with men’s and women’s cross country combining for 20.

“This past fall, the Texas A&M athletics department saw a record number of student-athletes achieve the Fall Academic Honor Roll,” Executive Associate Athletics Director of Academics and Student-Athlete Engagement Dr. Dan Childs said. “Eighty-two student-athletes achieving the SEC Honor Roll is a tremendous accomplishment, and as a department, we are extremely proud of the students’ achievements in the classroom.
