A&M Regents Approve Flagship Campus Projects

Texas A&M University and the system offices may have been closed Friday.

The weather didn’t stop the Board of Regents from finishing their two day meeting in College Station. Action items included $33 million dollars of projects on the flagship campus.

Starting in March will be a more than $10 million dollar makeover of the Penberthy student athletic center. Along George Bush Drive you’ll notice a new pavillion building and the conversion of four fields to artificial turf with lights.

Also approved was the much publicized $22 million dollar overhaul of Olsen Field. Some of the improvements will be made during the upcoming Aggie baseball season.

Among the lighter moments Friday was Regent Gene Stallings endorsing football coach Mike Sherman’s incoming freshman recruiting class.
