Texas A&M Soccer Adds WCC All-Freshman Defender

News release from Texas A&M Athletics:

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M soccer team fortified its backline with the addition of West Coast Conference All-Freshman defender Hayden Wilson head coach G Guerrieri announced Thursday.

“Hayden is a tough and fast defender who is very technical and comfortable on the ball,” Guerrieri said. “She brings a skillset that is perfect for our needs and she has a mentality to dominate her opponents – something Aggie soccer fans are going to love.”

Wilson, who joins the 2025 squad as a sophomore, enjoyed a stellar rookie season at Oregon State in 2024. She appeared in all 18 matches for the Beavers, including 17 starts. She played all 90 minutes in nine of 10 league matches, helping the Beavers tie for the second-best defense in the WCC with a 1.00 goals against average.

“Hayden is a super 1v1 force defensively,” Guerrieri said. “But she is also a wonderful attacking player once the ball is won and she quickly transitions up the field on the dribble or with accurate passes to teammates.”

Wilson was a prep star at Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) High School. She was a two-time All-Baseline League performer for the Cougars. She was also a standout on the Rebels Inland Empire Soccer Club.
