Texas A&M Men’s Tennis Adds NC State Transfer

News release from Texas A&M Athletics:

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M men’s tennis head coach Steve Denton announced that former North Carolina State standout Damien Salvestre has joined the roster for the upcoming spring.

“I’m so excited to join this team,” Salvestre said. “It’s an honor to be part of such a prestigious program, and I’m looking forward to contributing to the team’s success while growing as both a player and a person. Gig’em!”

The Marseille, France native played his three previous seasons at NC State, accumulating 34-19 overall singles and 14-9 doubles record. During his junior season, he compiled a 6-3 conference record in the ACC.

“Damien Salvestre is a transfer that will really bolster our roster this spring,” Denton said. He has a wealth of college experience and continues our tradition of having top French players join our team. Damien is a talented player that has a tremendous upside, and we can’t wait to get the opportunity to put the finishing touches on his college career. His desire is to play pro tennis after college which is music to my ears.”

The 6-foot-3 senior has claimed three ITF wins, with the G4 Clermont-Ferrand and G3 Barcelona in 2019. His first ITF win was in 2017 at the G4 Bournemouth.
