College Station police receive a report of a 16 year old boy and several of his friends texting a phone number that was written on a bathroom stall with the question “Need of a woman?” That led to the arrest of a 54 year old man on a solicitation charge. The CSPD arrest report says the 16 year old arranged a meeting at an undisclosed park. The teen and his friends, using a photo the man sent, saw him driving by. The man told officers that the texts were sent by his son. After officers determined the son did not have access to the phone, Kevin Shirley of College Station was arrested for online solicitation of a minor. Shirley is out of jail after posting a $15,000 dollar bond.
Bryan police making a traffic stop for failing to signal leads to the driver’s arrest on weapons and drug charges. The BPD arrest report said the driver, 34 year old Valentin Garay of Bryan was out on parole for engaging in organized criminal activity. The BPD arrest report also said he had a gun reported stolen from South Carolina, a small bag of cocaine, and more than $1,400 dollars in cash. Garay is out of jail after posting bonds totaling $17,000 dollars following his arrest for manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
