BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The 20th ranked Texas A&M women’s swimming & diving team returns to the Rec Center Natatorium Thursday, Oct. 24 for an in-state matchup against Houston. The Aggies are coming off consecutive victories over TCU and BYU in their home opener.
Olivia Theall was one of many bright spots for the Maroon & White over the weekend, notching first place times in the 200 fly (1:59.78) and 50 free (23.43), as well as a second-place finish in the 200 IM (2:02.76).
Hayden Miller added a pair of top times in the distance events, going 4:49.58 in the 500 free and 10:02.98 in the 1000 free. Chloe Stepanek touched the wall not long after in the 500 free with a time of 4:52.51 and recorded the fastest time in the 100 back (55.35) and the 100 IM (57.70).
Giulia Goerigk contributed a pair of third-place swims in the 200 breast (2:16.17) and 200 fly (2:03.39) and claimed the top time in the 200 IM at 2:02.35.
In diving action, Else Praasterink secured a spot to NCAA Zones with her performances on the 3-meter (313.30), 1-meter (273.90) and platform (245.05). Mayson Richards totaled 305.00 points on the 3-meter springboard to place second and booked a trip to Zones on the 1-meter, scoring 299.80. Sophomore Chloe McKnight also punched her ticket to Zones on the platform with a score of 243.90.
