Brazos County commissioners make two decisions regarding the future medical examiner’s office during their October 15th meeting.
Little was said before approving a guaranteed maximum construction price of $8.4 million dollars. County judge Duane Peters agreed with commissioner Nancy Berry’s hope that dirt starts turning soon. County documents say construction is supposed to be completed by the end of September of 2025.
In a separate vote, commissioners without public discussion awarded a contract for something called commissioning services for the medical examiner’s office and other unidentified county buildings. The contract says the commissioning services company works independently of the architect and the contractor monitor the design, pre-construction, and construction phases. The cost was not disclosed in county documents.
