This week’s Brazos County commission meeting (June 25) included the formal presentation of the Texas historical commission’s latest award from the state.

Commission chairman Henry Mayo said Brazos County is one of ten counties receiving the state’s distinguished service awards for 22 consecutive years.

For 2023, Brazos County was one of 80 counties recognized for its “exceptional performance as determined by a statewide assessment of annual reports.”
