BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Former Texas A&M student-athletes Trinity Cannon, Jazmine Hill and Rylen Wiggins are slated to start their professional softball careers in the Women’s Professional Fastpitch league beginning Thursday. Hill signed to the Texas Smoke, while Cannon and Wiggins signed to the Coastal Bend Tidal Wave.
Hill opens the season Thursday at 7 p.m. as the Texas Smoke hosts the Texas Monarchs at Bobcat Stadium in San Marcos, Texas. Game two of the four-game set is scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m., followed by game three on Saturday at 6 p.m. and the finale on Sunday at 1 p.m. Fans can purchase tickets at the gate or at txst.com.
Cannon and Wiggins begin play on the road Thursday at 7 p.m. as the Coastal Bend Tidal Wave travel to face the Hub City Adelitas at the Lady Winds Field in Floydada, Texas. The four-game set continues Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m., before wrapping up the series on Sunday at 1 p.m. Tickets are $5 at the gate. The Women’s Professional Fastpitch League launched its first official season in 2023 as the Texas Smoke claimed the inaugural championship series over the USSSA Pride in August. The Coastal Bend Tidal Wave, Hub City Adelitas and Texas Monarchs are in their inaugural season with the league. The Tidal Wave open its home slate June 27-30 against the Texas Smoke at Fairgrounds Field in Robstown, Texas.
