Texas A&M Softball’s Hill Earns SEC Player of the Week

News release from Texas A&M Athletics:

BIRMINGHAM – Texas A&M outfielder Jazmine Hill has earned SEC Player of the Week recognition, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.

Hill was 5-for-8 at the plate with a double, triple and three walks, while driving in three runs and scoring twice in the series win over Kentucky. The graduate served a significant role in each of Texas A&M’s victories, including an RBI double that scored the winning run in the series opener before scoring the game-leading run in game two.

The Norfolk, California, native, showcased her defensive skillset and arm strength keeping Kentucky runners from advancing extra bases, including the final play on Saturday when Hill hurled the ball to the infield before Amari Harper cut the relay tossing it back to Koko Wooley for game-winning out.

Including the midweek win over Prairie View A&M, Hill registered a 1.786 OPS, while totaling five walks and going 6-for-9 at the plate on the week.

It marks the fourth SEC weekly honor for Texas A&M this season, including the second player of the week accolade following Allie Enright’s recognition on February 19.
