College Station police searching a home in Bryan Thursday (November 21) finds more than two pounds of marijuana and 126 ecstasy pills. The couple who lives in the home, 43 year old John Pilkey and 36 year old Bobbie Jones, were arrested for possessing the drugs with the intent to sell. WTAW News has CSPD the estimated street value of the drugs that were seized. CSPD arrest reports also says Jones’s minor son assisted in weighing the marijuana and collecting money from selling marijuana. The arrest reports do not say who has custody of the juvenile. As of November 22, Pilkey and Jones remain in jail in lieu of bonds totaling $95,000 dollars each.
Blinn College trustees are told to reserve January 31st for the grand opening of the new Bryan campus administration and student services building. That began chancellor Mary Hensley’s project update during November’s trustees meeting. Hensley also reported that office assignments have been made and administrators are working on plans to move into the more than $30 million dollar building at Villa Maria and Nash. The Bryan city council moves ahead with a nearly $2.7 million dollar project at Coulter Field airport. There were no public comments before the council’s unanimous vote to creating more overnight parking for aircraft. Background information from the city does not indicate the number of additional parking spaces. But for the first time, there will be enough space for aircraft with two engines to park. The city will pay ten percent of the design and construction cost and a state grant will cover the rest. Construction is slated to start in the 2026 fiscal year. Bryan mayor Bobby Gutierrez, speaking on WTAW’s The Infomaniacs, hopes to attract bigger jets that will lead to extending Coulter Field’s runway.
