Garrett named Cowboys Head Coach

After leading the Dallas Cowboys to five
wins in eight games as their interim coach, Jason Garrett earned
consideration for the job on a full-time basis. This afternoon he
was rewarded by owner Jerry Jones who named Garrett head coach of
the NFL club.
Garrett took over a team from Wade Phillips that had lost seven
of its first eight games and was given the task of just making the
team competitive. He did more than that with the five victories.
Jones interviewed receivers coach Ray Sherman and Miami
assistant head coach Todd Bowles for the job, but Garrett was
always considered the front-runner.
