Southbound Highway 6 Traffic Switch

Southbound traffic on Highway 6 between Jones Creek and the Navasota River is going to change Wednesday.

TxDot crews will make changes that cause traffic coming from College Station to leave the existing roadway just south of Jones Creek and enter the new West Frontage Road.

Then about half a mile south of the FM 2154 intersection southbound traffic will merge into one lane until the second lane of the project is complete.

The traffic switch is part of the $100.3 million widening project that is contracted to TJ Lambrecht Construction Company of Joliet, Illinois.

The entire project is expected to be complete in the spring of 2010.

TxDot and their contractor appreciate everyone’s patience during the ongoing construction.
