An apartment building on Texas A&M’s west campus was evacuated Friday during the midnight hour due to a cooking fire.

College Station firefighters report no injuries after 12 units responded to the Park West complex’s Hillside building.

Fire sprinklers were credited for limiting fire damage.

CSFD received mutual aid from the Bryan fire department, A&M’s E-M-S, and the community action response team.

The end of the CSFD news release stated: “Cooking fires are 100% avoidable. Don’t let your late-night bite become a late-night fright! Keep an eye on what you fry!”
