Tokyo Olympics Update: Monday, July 26th

Kelsey Stewart hit a walk-off home run in the seventh inning to lift U.S.A. Softball past Japan, 2-1 at the Tokyo Olympics.

With the victory, the Americans clinch their group stage and the right to bat last in the gold medal game.

The US also swept gold in skeet shooting, with Vincent Hancock winning it for the men and Amber English for the women.

Caldwell native Phillip Jungman finished 15th in his first ever Olympics.

The Americans currently lead the way in Tokyo with seven gold medals, and are right behind China with 14 total medals.

American Katie Ledecky, the defending champion and world record holder in the women’s 400-meter freestyle, took silver in the event in Tokyo.

Ledecky was edged out by Australia’s Ariarne Titmus, who finished with the second-fastest time in history at 3 minutes, 56.69 seconds.
