Texas A&M’s new president met with reporters Wednesday inside the Memorial Student Center.

Katherine Banks visited with WTAW’s Bill Oliver and The Eagle’s Megan Rodriguez.

Topics included Dr. Banks’s professional career at three land grant universities and doing her undergraduate work at a fourth, the interview process after she was nominated to become Texas A&M president, her short term goals since starting her new job June 1, coming out of the pandemic, and announcing the selection of Bush School associate dean and former A&M system vice chancellor Frank Ashley to lead to be in charge of the flagship’s $25 million dollar initiatives involving diversity, equity, and inclusion.
