This summer, construction begins on Aggie Park, located across the street from the east side of Kyle Field. In May, the A&M System Board of Regents approved building a new facility in the park.
The 80,000 square foot building will house the Ring Office and host Aggie Ring Days.
Kathryn Greenwade, Vice President of the Association of Former Students, says the new facility will provide a more functional and engaging space.
“When our current facility was designed, Aggie Ring Day, as we know it, did not exist. But we are designing this facility with Aggie Ring Day in mind, and we’re designing it in a way that if we ever reach this milestone, we could award 10,000 rings in a single day,” said Greenwade.
Greenwade says the facility, which will allow them to hand out 10,000 Aggie rings in a single day, will also improve a student’s experience from beginning to end.
“This new facility will allow us to grow and to have more ring order stations, so we can be more efficient in that ring order process. Again, making the whole experience of ordering your ring and receiving your ring, a more efficient and enjoyable experience,” said Greenwade.
The building, being called the Grand Hall, is projected to be completed by 2023.
