Drag boat racing comes to Lake Bryan this weekend.

Bryan city councilman and racing enthusiast Buppy Simank promoted the event at the end of Tuesday’s council meeting.

A reminder that the season opening event of the Southern Drag Boat Association means access to Lake Bryan is restricted to those with tickets for the races. Lake Bryan will be closed for general public use from Thursday at 10 p.m. until Monday at 9 a.m.

The Destination Bryan tourism office previously announced that boats will be parked Thursday evening on North Main Street near Blackwater Draw for a “show and shine” event.
