The Sexual Assault Resource Center is partnering with The Frame Gallery in Downtown Bryan to display and sell works of art that have been donated for survivors of sexual assault.
Lauren Spitznagle, Executive Director of SARC, says more than 30 pieces of art make up the exhibit, Metamorphosis.
“Some artists were survivors themselves, some knew survivors, and some just wanted to be part of raising awareness,” said Spitznagle.
The artwork is for sale, and all proceeds go towards SARC’s services.
“We had to hire two additional counselors this year because of our increase in counseling and mental health services are so important and I just want to stress the importance of that with individuals who have been through sexual trauma as well,” said Spitznagle.
An opening reception for Metamorphosis is Friday, April 2nd from 7 – 10 p.m. at The Frame Gallery. The exhibit will be on display through Sunday, April 11th.
