College Station city council members at their last meeting agreed to expand city services being paid with credit cards.

This will increase the fees the city pays to the processor from $1.2 million to $1.5 million dollars.

Currently, credit card processing fees for paying College Station utility bills are built into the city’s rate structure.

Next year, credit cards will be accepted at the city’s planning and development services office.

Councilwoman Elizabeth Cunha compared what is paid for processing credit card transactions to the $1.295 million the city pays for library services.
