For months, Brazos County Commissioners each week have said no to instituting a burn ban outside of city limits.
On Tuesday, the commissioners court unanimously passed a burn ban for the next 60 days.

Last week was the first commission vote that wasn’t unanimous against the burn ban. According to meeting minutes, Precinct 1 Commissioner Lloyd Wassermann voted for the ban after learning his fire chief wanted it.
Strong winds and low humidities Tuesday afternoon brought out volunteer firefighters to near Bryan’s east city limits. Crews from Precincts 2, 3, and 4 were on Marino Road, north of Highway 21 near Coulter Airfield to take care of a grass fire that also consumed a mobile home trailer used for storage.
