A Bryan man is returning to prison after admitting to five felony crimes on the same day in January of last year.

27 year old Jacinto Perez was sentenced to a total of 35 years for two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and three counts of evading arrest in a vehicle.

According to the Brazos County district attorney’s office, Perez admitted to leading Bryan police once and DPS twice on a chase that originated from an attempted shoplifting at the west Bryan Walmart.

Along the way, the pickup driven by Perez struck the door of a parked semi, nearly hitting someone.

The chase ended when Perez’s truck…driving the wrong way on Highway 60, exited at Turkey Creek Road near Easterwood Airport and struck a car. Two people in the car sustained minor injuries, and Perez was taken to the hospital for treatment of what prosecutors said were significant injuries.

At the time of last January’s events, Perez was on parole from a 2016 conviction of evading arrest in a vehicle.
