College Station police and fire responded Wednesday afternoon to what turned out to be a robbery at the Kohl’s store.
As the first officer arrived, one person drove away and has not been located.
A second person who was inside the store and was detained after the officer shot his Taser.
According to the CSPD news release, a Kohl’s loss prevention employee sustained minor injuries.
The suspect who was detained was treated by firefighter/EMT’s for injuries from the Taser.
Then 32 year old Clifton Benford Jr. of College Station was arrested and taken to jail on charges of robbery, manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance, tampering with evidence, resisting search, and evading arrest.
Benford remained in jail Thursday afternoon in lieu of bonds totaling $39,800 dollars.
