In the next 30 to 60 days, the city of Bryan will launch an electric scooter pilot project.
And the Bryan city council’s last meeting included comments from three downtown property owners expressing concerns and/or opposition.
Deputy city manager Joey Dunn says South Carolina based Gotcha Mobility will have 100 scooters in Bryan…deploying up to four at specific locations that will include but not be exclusive to the downtown area.
Dunn says scooters will be driven on streets where the maximum speed limit is 35 miles per hour. Over 35, the scooters will be allowed on sidewalks. And helmets will be required to drive the scooters.
Additional information will be released once the official launch is announced at a date to be determined.
