Manslaughter Arrest This Week From Fatal Motorcycle Crash Two Years Ago

July 8 marks two years since a Franklin woman died in a motorcycle crash in north Bryan.

Early Monday morning, the driver of the motorcycle was arrested on a manslaughter charge.

53 year old James Fuchs Jr. is out of jail after posting a $10,000 dollar bond.

According to the Bryan police arrest report, witnesses told officers they saw a motorcycle driven by Fuchs run a red light on the northbound freeway service road at Old Reliance Road.

The motorcycle struck the right front fender of an eastbound car. The impact caused the car to almost face to the north.

Fuchs and a passenger were thrown off the motorcycle. Neither were wearing a helmet.

The passenger who died was identified as 44 year old Melissa Fuchs.

According to the arrest report, James Fuchs Jr.’s blood alcohol level was .082.
