Blue Bell Tracks Down Customer Tampering To Lufkin

Update:

Blue Bell reports a video showing a customer tampering with a half gallon of container of ice cream was traced to Lufkin.

Blue Bell posted on its website that their staff recognized a Lufkin Wal Mart as the location where a woman licked Tin Roof ice cream, replaced the lid, and returned the container to the store freezer.

After reviewing the store’s surveillance video, Blue Bell believes they may have recovered the tampered container.

Blue Bell removed all half gallons of Tin Roof from that location.

Lufkin police has taken over the investigation, and Blue Bell thanked customers who alerted and provided information to them.

Blue Bell’s statement did not address multiple requests on social media to add protective seals to their containers.

A prior message on Blue Bell’s website stated “Any attempt at opening the product should be noticeable.” That’s because Blue Bell half gallons are upside down in their hardening room, where a natural seal is made when the ice cream lid freezes tightly to the carton.
