A woman arrested in Bryan more than five years ago for drunk driving with three prior convictions was ordered this week to serve eight years in prison. 57 year old Angela Kellar lived in North Zulch when she was arrested by Bryan police in October 2013 for having a blood alcohol level of .290, which is almost three and a half times the legal limit. Two years after her arrest, she pleaded guilty and was given probation. Since then, according to the district attorney’s office, she is accused multiple times of attempting to drive her car under the influence of alcohol. She returned to jail for the 22nd time in 31 years in March for failing to appear and jumping bail.

A Bryan man has admitted in Brazos County district court to drunk driving for the third time. As part of a plea agreement, prosecutors dropped a charge that 33 year old Mauro Rodriguez was driving his SUV as a deadly weapon in January of last year. According to the Bryan police arrest report, an officer saw Rodriguez cross the center line on Villa Maria in front of the former municipal golf course and into the path of oncoming traffic. Rodriguez was sentenced to seven years in prison.

The 30th time in the Brazos County jail in 20 years for a 38 year old Bryan man came after pleading guilty to possessing less than one gram of cocaine. Due to the criminal history of Anthony Latroy Williams, he was sentenced to ten years in prison. As part of a plea agreement with prosecutors, a second drug possession charge was dropped.
