The city of Bryan’s municipal building and BTU offices were closed Wednesday morning for more than two hours following the discovery of a suspicious package.
Initially, the only information released by Bryan police is that the package was found “at the Bryan municipal building” and the “College Station Bomb squad has inspected the package and declared it to be safe.”
Bryan police sergeant Ryan Bona told WTAW News a city employee discovered the package. That led to the evacuation of the municipal building and closing the parking lot west of the building.
Bona said the CSPD bomb squad’s robot picked up the package, about the size of a shoebox, and determined it was not a threat.
