A Brazos County sheriff’s deputy is on paid suspension following her arrest last week on a charge of altering a prescription.
42 year old Melissa Melasky of North Zulch is accused of getting 60 Tramadol tablets from a Bryan pharmacy when it was supposed to be 30 tablets.
According to the arrest report from Bryan police, the pharmacy tech said Melasky’s prescription was missing a pill quantity.
The deputy left the pharmacy with the prescription and returned ten minutes later with a note calling for 60 pills.
After Melasky left the second time with the 60 pills, the pharmacy tech noticed the prescription paper was smeared.
That led the tech to call the doctor, who reported the prescription was supposed to be for 30 pills.
Melasky, who is a member of the sheriff’s department courthouse security unit, is out of jail on a bond where she promises to show up at future court appearances.
