Local Businessowners Are Asked To Get Identification Before Selling Large Amounts Of Gift Cards

Property stolen from recent vehicle burglaries includes credit cards.

College Station police has recently experienced cases where stolen credit cards were used to purchase $2,500 to $5,000 dollars of gift cards.

That has led CSPD to ask businessowners and their employees to ask customers for identification.

Lt. Craig Anderson says they’ve asked the chamber of commerce to ask their members, and CSPD officers will be visiting other businesses.

Anderson also reminds vehicle owners to remove valuables and lock their doors.
