More Than $1,200 Of Property Stolen In A Bryan Motel Vehicle Burglary Is Recovered

Bryan police report an estimated $1,265 dollars of property taken in a car burglary outside a hotel during the midnight hour Tuesday was recovered.

According to the arrest report, someone living in an apartment near the Wood Spring Suites off the freeway near Briarcrest called 9-1-1 after hearing a car alarm and seeing two men in the parking lot.

Officers found a car with a shattered window and a variety of items on the ground next to the car. More property was found in the car of one of the two men. The remaining items were found in the hotel room the two men shared, along with a handheld pick tool that was used to break the car window.

Only one of the two men was arrested. 17 year old Mario Gasca of Bryan is out of jail after posting a $4,000 dollar bond.

According to the arrest report, Gasca told police he broke into the car to make some extra money because he’s expecting a daughter in three months.
