College Station ISD school board members award a contract associated with the second phase of the district’s career and technical education (CTE) center. The board approved facilities director Paul Buckner’s recommendation for a guaranteed maximum price of $2.3 million dollars for the pre-engineered metal building portion of the project. This will be the home of CSISD’s ag mechanics, auto tech, construction, cosmetology, and welding programs. There will also be space for a multipurpose arena and offices. Buckner said construction is scheduled to start this summer and take 12 to 15 months to complete, weather permitting. This is part of the bond package that was approved by CSISD voters in November 2023. A memo to the board says they will consider “in the next couple of months”, the final guaranteed maximum price for the construction of the CTE phase two project.
