The Bryan school board will consider in the future, incorporating more performing arts activities for elementary and middle school students.
That follows discussion during a workshop this week where Trustees member Doug Wunneburger questioned why school improvement plans made no reference to the arts.

Wunneburger voted against the school improvement plans at Jones Elementary and Bryan High School. The state ruled both schools two years ago were academically unacceptable.
At Jones the reasons included not enough black students passing TAKS math and reading tests two years ago.
At Bryan High School the problem two years ago was falling one short of having enough black students graduate. Otherwise, Bryan High would have been academically recognized.
