Arrests For Aggravated Assault With A Vehicle, Repeat DWI, & A Business Burglary

A Bryan man is out of the hospital after a car struck him then stayed on top of him. The driver of the car was arrested by Bryan police for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. According to the arrest report, 44 year old Jose Martinez-Gutierrez said he did not see the victim. This took place Tuesday afternoon outside the back of Sodolak’s Grocery on Highway 21. Officers say the victim, who was drinking a beer, was knocked unconscious and was burned after coming in contact with the car’s hot motor. A second person drinking with the victim was not hit.

For the second time in 11 months, a Grimes County woman has been arrested for drunk driving in Brazos County. According to the DPS arrest report, 37 year old Rachael Williams-Ford of Richards also has a DWI conviction in Florida. She was arrested early Wednesday morning on Highway 21 near Coulter Field airport after she missed a turn and her vehicle went into a concrete culvert. She told the trooper she drank six beers prior to the crash. According to online court records, Williams is awaiting trial from a DWI arrest in College Station last August.

A representative of a College Station business hit by a burglary last week contacted police when finding some of its property for sale online. That led to a sting by police, setting up a purchase in the parking lot of a nearby apartment complex. That resulted in recovering two of several electric guitars taken from Guitar Center. 26 year old Monterace Pier of Burton was arrested for the theft and altering I-D numbers on the guitars.
