UPDATE: Traffic Signals Working Again Following Crash at Villa Maria and Carter Creek

Noon update from Bryan police:

At 7:15 a.m. officers responded to a Major accident in the 1100 block of Villa Maria at Carter Creek Pkwy.

A 1998 Chevy Impala was traveling westbound when the vehicle crossed eastbound lanes and struck the traffic control signal box on the southwest corner of the intersection and rolled.

The driver, a 21 year old female, was the only occupant and was wearing her seatbelt.

The driver was taken to CHI St. Joseph where she was treated and released.

The accident may have been related to a medical issue.

The light is now functioning and the roadway is open.

All traffic control signals are out at the intersection of Villa Maria and Carter Creek after a single car accident which occurred at approximately 7:15 this morning. The driver was transported to St Joseph Hospital and is expected to recover. At this time the extent of the driver’s injuries are unknown.
