Blinn College announces finalizing the purchase of land for its new campus in Waller County. Through an open records request, the purchase price for one hundred acres is just over $19.5 million dollars. The funding source is unrestricted cash. The property is located north of Highway 290 at FM 2920 and Binford Road. No timeline has been announced to complete a programming and facilities plan, which will lead to designing Blinn’s sixth campus. A Blinn news release says the Waller County location will offer academic and workforce training programs. Some classes are currently being offered at Waller ISD’s junior high school. News release from Blinn College: The Blinn College District has finalized the purchase of a 100-acre site at 29638 FM 2920 in Waller that will serve as the College’s sixth campus. The site will be home to a comprehensive commuter campus offering both academic and workforce training programs. The next step in the development process is to create a programming and facilities plan to ensure the campus meets the needs of students and the community. “Today’s announcement marks a historic moment for the Blinn College District and for the Waller-Harris County community,” said Dr. Mary Hensley, Chancellor of the Blinn College District. “We are excited about the opportunities this new location will provide, offering programs that will inspire, empower, and equip our students for success. Our future is brighter than ever, and we are eager to begin this next phase of growth with the support of our students, faculty, and local partners.” The Waller/Harris County location joins Blinn’s Brenham, Bryan, RELLIS, Schulenburg, and Sealy campuses. With the expansion of a new campus, Blinn will bring its renowned academic reputation to the Waller-Harris County community.
